As the Chief Executive Officer for Carolina Seed Farm and the Director of Business Operations at Nimmer Turf Farm, Meccay oversees the operations, finances, and compliance of two thriving agricultural businesses in South Carolina, USA. She manages the recruitment, training, and supervision of over 60 foreign seasonal laborers, ensuring their safety, well-being, and productivity during their 10 month stay. She consistently aims to maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, delivering high-quality products and services. In her free time, Meccay is also the Executive Director for the South Carolina Sod Producers Association and a Leadership Fellow for Turf Producers International.
Before joining the farming industry, Meccay completed Barclays Investment Bank's HR Graduate Program in New York City, where she gained valuable insights and skills in various aspects of human resources, such as leadership and talent development, data analytics, executive search, and HR delivery and advisory. She worked with diverse and global teams, directing projects that supported the organization's strategy and culture.
Meccay has a passion for learning and exploring new cultures and perspectives. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in International Business and Management, and a minor in French. She was one of five Americans selected as an inaugural member of the International Business Education Alliance, a unique program that allowed her to study and work as a student consultant in Germany, Singapore, and Brazil where she collaborated closely with a variety of industry leaders to advise on business strategy, technology implementation, and conduct research in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
