About Gianni Capalbo
Gianni Capalbo was born in Switzerland in 1973 and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Bologna. With over 25 years of experience in business development for Italian manufacturing industries, Gianni had long been at the forefront of industrial growth and innovation.
However, the global disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic ignited a transformative shift in his career and personal life. It was during this period that Gianni decided to return to his roots and reconnect with nature, embarking on a mission to create a model for sustainable living and farming.
In 2021, Gianni co-founded Terrae Matrum with his partner, Roberta de Vincenti, in Colombra di Cerzeto (Cs), transforming a centuries-old olive grove into a multifunctional organic farm. Terrae Matrum is not just a farm; it’s a holistic project that integrates agricultural productivity with environmental sustainability and education. The farm features a Biodiversity Park, an organic agro-ecological farm, and a botanic educational facility, where visitors learn about the importance of respecting and preserving nature.
Gianni’s commitment to sustainability is evident in every aspect of Terrae Matrum’s operations. The farm runs on solar energy and practises rainwater recovery, embodying a zero-impact lifestyle.
