Azhar Tambuwala has been involved in the field of agriculture since 1995 with a particular focus on global fresh produce & processed food supply chains. Over the years he has developed a unique understanding of the challenges in farming and exporting fresh and processed produce procured from smallholder farmers. As a Founding Team Member, he played a pivotal role in the consolidation of smallholder farmers to help build Sahyadri Farmer Producer Company Ltd., India’s largest horticultural farmers’ producer company. He also serves on the Boards of other companies in the horticulture, technology and pharma sectors.   Through his ‘The Raahat Foundation’ he actively espouses social causes like art, culture, literature and empowers women, especially those infected with HIV, to lead normal lives in the society.   He is an active Rotarian; was a keen soccer player & athletics participant at institutional levels, a sports enthusiast, a mountaineer, recently scaling Mount Kilimanjaro and a recreational runner having run in 75 different cities in the world. He also sits on the Board of Blue Brigade Sports Foundation to promote running across the country.
