Azhar has been deeply involved in the field of agriculture since 1995, with a particular focus on global fresh produce and processed food supply chains. Over the years, he has developed a unique understanding of the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in farming, processing, and exporting their produce to international markets.

As a Founding Team Member of Sahyadri Farmer Producer Company Ltd., India’s largest horticultural farmers’ producer company, Azhar has played a pivotal role in consolidating smallholder farmers and empowering them to participate competitively in global trade. His leadership extends beyond agriculture—he also serves on the Boards of companies in horticulture, technology, and pharma sectors, contributing his expertise across diverse industries.

Beyond his professional commitments, Azhar is passionate about social impact. Through The Raahat Foundation, he actively champions causes in art, culture, literature, and women empowerment, supporting women living with HIV to lead dignified lives.

His journey is also an inspiring story of sportsmanship and resilience. A former soccer player, athletics participant, and mountaineer who scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, Azhar has also run in 75 different cities worldwide. As a Board Member of Blue Brigade Sports Foundation, he continues to promote running and fitness across India.
