About Eight Orbit Urban Farms

Founded in October 2020 by Dr. Christina Timi Igono, EOUF emerged from a passion for sustainable agriculture and a commitment to finding solutions for food insecurity. While working towards her Ph.D. at the University of Nevada Reno, Dr. Igono’s inspiration came during a greenhouse rice study, where she explored the effects of calcium oxide on rice growth and soil health. This research was not only successful but also ignited a vision for a company that could leverage cutting-edge technology to ensure food production in a controlled, sustainable environment.

At EOUF, we understand that Africa faces unique agricultural challenges, from unpredictable weather patterns to limited access to arable land. Our approach integrates advanced technologies with indoor farming practices, allowing us to produce fruits, vegetables, and staple foods year-round, regardless of external conditions.
